New Hope Community Church is dedicated to growing a revitalized church that is visibly transforming the community through:

  • SERVING LOCAL NEEDS

  • ENGAGING THE UNCHURCHED

  • EQUIPPING ALL GENERATIONS TO FOLLOW CHRIST

History

New Hope has been around since 1993.  We have had a significant impact in East County since then.  The church quickly grew and immediately had particular influence with the recovery community.  Sharing the Gospel with those who don’t know Jesus has been the focus since day one.  We spent about 14 years meeting in Antioch and we’ve met in Brentwood since 2007.

The Evangelical Covenant Church

New Hope is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church, a denomination headquartered in Chicago.  There are about 150 ECC churches in California and our regional office is just west of us in Concord.

The Evangelical Covenant Church describes itself as:

  • Evangelical, but not exclusive
  • Biblical, but not doctrinaire
  • Traditional, but not rigid
  • Congregational, but not independent

Our essential beliefs are summed up in six affirmations:

  • The centrality of the word of God
  • The necessity of new birth
  • A commitment to the whole mission of the Church
  • The Church as a fellowship of believers
  • A conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit
  • The reality of freedom in Christ
